Father Of Missing Camper Accepts The Worst
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) ―
The father of a man who disappeared two weeks ago while on a camping and hunting trip with friends says he's accepted that his son has probably died.
Dave McMahan spent most of the last two weeks searching for 39-year-old Travis McMahan of Casper. The Natrona County Sheriff's Department suspended the search on Thursday.
Travis McMahan was not a hunter, but was with two elk-hunting friends on a weekend camping trip when he failed to return to camp.
Dave McMahan lost his only other son in a 1990 car crash. He says he thinks maybe his two sons are together again.
Authorities say the search for Travis McMahan may resume with dog teams when the snowcover recedes.
