The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has canceled a smoke health advisory for Colorado. Smoke in the atmosphere from the wildfires in California and other parts of the West and Canada affected the skies above Colorado Tuesday and Wednesday.
The haze is came from fires near Los Angeles, about 800 miles away from Denver, as well as blazes in Yosemite National Park, Utah's Pine Valley wilderness area, and Canada. The massive Station Fire near L.A. had scorched 164 square miles of brush by Monday and was not expected to be under control for many more days.
A weak cold front moved into the state late Wednesday afternoon, helping to clear the skies.
Wednesday evening will be mostly cloudy with a chance for isolated thunderstorms, then partly cloudy overnight with lows in the mid 50s.
The forecast doesn't change much for the rest of the week and the long holiday weekend.
Expect highs to be in the low to mid 80s and there will be slight chances for rain every afternoon.
