DENVER (CBS4) ― After a relatively mild start to June, the 90s have arrived. Over the past few years there have been plenty of heat waves in June. The most 90 degree days ever recorded was June 2006 with 19 days.

As far as the rest of the season May through September, the No. 1 spot for total 90 degree days over that 5 month period was 61 in 2000. Out of the top 10 total seasonal 90 degree days 6 of those years occurred over the last 8 years.

Just last year we broke a 100 year old record for the most days in a row with temperatures 90 degrees or more. Between July 13 and Aug. 5 Denver recorded 24 consecutive 90 degree days, breaking at 1901 record of 18.
