Longtime residents of Rollinsville near the intersection of highways 119 and 72 say they haven't seen this much snow since 2003.
Over the weekend some people living in the area say they received anywhere from three to five feet of snow. It fell heavy and was extremely wet, making the finished product like cement.
"I had tried to pack it down and got my truck stuck," said resident Stephanie Kuhne. "I had to get dug out by a backhoe."
"I heard a noise and sure enough, one of my neighbors came down with one of his tractors and plowed me out," said resident Ryan Castleberry.
The snow was so heavy that it tore trees from the ground and broke branches, causing power outages in the area. Two men working on clearing the trees from the lines say they had to hike, in some areas, through waist-high snow to clear the broken branches and trunks away. The deep snow prevented them from getting to those lines as quickly as they would have liked to, delaying those outages.
