Aguilera: April In Denver Was Exceptionally Dry

 Weather Section

 Live Web Cams

DENVER (CBS4) ― Although May has gotten off to a good start, moisture-wise, this past April is going down in the record books as one of the driest on record. In fact, April 2008 goes down as Denver's 5th driest April since official Denver record keeping began in 1872.

This time around we only saw .32 inches of liquid moisture. That's more than an inch-and-a-half below normal.

It's no wonder we had a problem with grass fires in the last month.

April snowfall amounts were pretty sorry looking as well.

Denver was a little over six inches (6.2") below normal, with only 2.9 inches of April snow this year.

That is pretty sad, when you consider on average April should be Denver's third snowiest month, behind November and March.
