Summertime is ozone pollution season but now that the calendar has flipped over to September ozone action alert days have ended this year.
Ground-level ozone is a summertime air pollution problem that is created when other pollutants from things like vehicle exhaust, paints, degreasing agents and cleaning fluids react with sunlight.
Exposure to ground-level ozone can cause respiratory problems and can trigger asthma attacks.
The next air quality program won't start up until Nov. 1. That's when the winter high pollution advisory days will begin.
