The smell of sunscreen filled the air at Water World Saturday morning. The first sunny Saturday in more than two months brought thousands to the water park on May 30, 2009.
A Sunday afternoon thunderstorm dropped 1 to nearly 2 inches of rain in about 40 minutes and produced a tornado about 2.5 miles northeast of Commerce City at around 2 p.m. There were several funnel clouds spotted in Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock and intense lightning.
