How far would you go to save the life of a friend? A Florida Panhandle teacher faced that very question and acted, CBS station WFOR-TV reported.
Charlotte Sause saw her friend, Rick Sprouse, get bitten by a water moccasin, but it's what she did then that makes her the best of friends.
Sause grabbed her friends hand and sucked the venom from the wound and then put tourniquets on his upper and lower arm. Sprouse wound up in intensive care for three days and doctors considered amputating his arm, but did not have to take that action.
Sprouse and his friends say the snake bite could have been deadly if Sause had not acted so quickly. Sause said she would do the same thing again if a snake bite kit wasn't nearby.
