A creepy Halloween haunted house is meant to scare, but it was an actor who was shaking when a police officer put a gun to his chest.
At the end of the House of Screams tour, the last scream is prompted by an intimidating sound. It's Mike Morrison, using a chainsaw.
"It makes noise. It's a real chainsaw, but I take the chain off of it," Morrison told CBS station WJZ-TV in Balitmore.
The skit turned into real fear with the last tour group Saturday night.
"The gentleman's daughter looked real scared, so I went after the other adults. And when I was coming back, he pulled a gun on me, pointed at my chest. He was about three feet away from me," Morrison said.
Baltimore County Police say the .40-caliber Glock was carried through the attraction and pulled out by a city sergeant, Eric Janik. It was loaded. He didn't shoot.
"We're there to have people scream, but not to get a gun pulled on us. I mean, we were doing our job. We have hundreds of people come through and they love it," said owner Anthony Sapanero.
Baltimore County Police say when they got to the Eastpoint Mall, Janik smelled of alcohol. And when they first questioned him, he lied about pulling out his weapon.
"He at first denied taking out the gun at all. Then he changed his story that he had taken it out, but pointed it to the ground. But all the witnesses say he pointed it right at the man," said Bill Toohey, Baltimore County Police.
Janik has been arrested for assault and suspended from the force.
"When the police commissioner became aware, he launched an internal affairs investigation. We'll work alongside Baltimore County to figure out exactly what happened, but these charges are very concerning," said Anthony Guglielmi, Baltimore City Police spokesperson.
"I just found out they're allowed to carry guns with them at all times now. If they're going to be like this, they shouldn't be allowed to do that," Morrison said.
Sgt. Janik will face a suspension hearing this week and has a court date in February.
