Erie Lottery Winners 'Shocked But Ecstatic'

Cabinet Workers Split $1M Lottery Prize

ERIE, Colo. (AP) ― Four workers at a Longmont cabinet factory will split a $1 million Powerball lottery prize.

The workers at John Murphy Mill Works saw their lottery pool win on Oct. 25. The company is a commercial cabinet maker.

After taxes, the workers took home $177,500 each. Group members say they've been pooling money to buy lottery tickets for since 2008. When the group wins small amounts, a few dollars or so, the winnings are set aside to divide among the lottery players around the holidays.

One of the winners, bookkeeper DeLena DeLaBarre, told the Daily Times-Call in Longmont that the members were "shocked but ecstatic" when they won the $1 million prize.
