Police in New Jersey are looking for a group of men who made off with a
lot of expensive merchandise during a smash-and-grab at an Apple store.
Authorities say the incident lasted only about 31 seconds.
Surveillance video shows a group of five suspects ransacking the store in the Promenade at Sagemore Shopping Center along Route 73 just before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Surveillance video shows the suspects tossing a large rock through the storefront window before storming the store, moving quickly and deliberately through the business.
Police said the suspects grabbed 23 Macbook Pro laptops, 14 iPhones, and nine iPod Touch devices before fleeing the scene.
PC Magazine estimates that the value of the stolen items is about $40,000.
Investigators said it appears one of the suspects gestured to a security guard in the store, indicating that he was carrying a handgun.
Police said they are searching for five black males in connection with the robbery. Two of the suspects were wearing black sweatshirts and a third had on a red vest with a light-colored long sleeve shirt.
