Corbett Field in Tucson, Ariz., is the spring training home of the Colorado Rockies. Spring training for the 2008 season started on Feb. 14. See images of the scene and the players from the CBS4 Sports team.
The Colorado Rockies, backed by one of the most historic runs in sports history, made their first trip to the World Series last season, where they were swept in four games by the Boston Red Sox. The drubbing at the hands of the Red Sox, though, could not diminish what Clint Hurdle's team accomplished, as they won 21 of 22 games just to get to the Fall Classic. This year Colorado will have its work cut out for them in a division that may be the most competitive in the National League. Colorado's young pitching carried them through the postseason, but can they handle the workload of a 162-game season? Troy Tulowitzki and Matt Holliday will continue to pace the offense, despite being shut out when the postseason awards were handed out last year. The one big position battle to watch for this spring will be at second base where Jayson Nix, Marcus Giles, Omar Quintanilla and Clint Barmes will battle it out.
