Sky Sox Record First Home No-Hitter

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) ― It took nine walks and four pitchers for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to record their first ever no-hitter at home in a win against the Albuquerque Isotopes Sunday.

Left-hander Franklin Morales, who the Rockies optioned to their Triple-A affiliate last month, started with five hitless innings in his season debut. Morales walked six batters and struck out three in the 5-1 victory.

Morales allowed the lone run after walking two in the fourth inning. A stolen base and a throwing error loaded the bases and a sacrifice fly got a runner home.

Chris George, Matt Daley and Steven Register cemented the no-hitter.

The Sky Sox had their first no-hitter in 2003 at Nashville. Chris Gissell and Jesus Sanchez combined for the hitless game in that case.
