The Denver Broncos Saturday activated rookie safety Josh Barrett from its practice squad and waived running back Alex Haynes, who was signed Nov. 10.
Barrett played at Arizona State and was picked in the seventh round of this year's draft and has been on the practice squad all season. He ranked fourth with 11 tackles and two special teams stops in four preseason games for Denver.
The Broncos' secondary has been hampered by injuries to starting linebackers Nate Webster, D.J. Williams, Boss Bailey, cornerback Champ Bailey as well as safety Marlon McCree.
