Colorado Rockies manager Clint Hurdle says he had a constructive talk with general manager Dan O'Dowd Tuesday after a disappointing season.
Hurdle says they focused on turning the team around after winning just 74 games this year, 16 fewer than last year, when they went to the World Series.
Signs of weakness are everywhere. The Rockies' team batting average dropped 17 points, to .263, and they scored 113 fewer runs.
The pitching staff had an earned-run average of 4.77, compared to 4.32 last year.
