Rockies Reveal New PA Voice Of Coors Field
DENVER (AP) ―
A 25-year-old sales associate for Molson Coors Brewing Company was named the new public address system voice of the Colorado Rockies on Friday morning.
Departing announcer Alan Roach revealed the new voice as that of Reed Saunders, the current voice of the Colorado Eagles hockey team in Loveland.
Roach made the announcement on Denver's 850 KOA radio.
Saunders was among a group of 20 finalists, pared down to three during a public audition event in downtown Denver on Monday.
Fans were then invited to log-on to the Rockies' Web site to vote for their favorite voice.
Saunders was born and raised in Denver and is a graduate of Colorado State University.
His first official assignment will be April 2, opening day, when Colorado hosts Arizona.
Roach is stepping down from PA duties after 14 years to spend more time with his family.
