Al Gore spent much of his early campaign for the 2000 democratic nomination battling monikers like "wooden," "stiff," and, worst of them all, "boring." But when the time came for him to accept his party's nomination for president, he and wife Tipper wowed the crowd with a full-on, open-mouthed, make-out session. Cynics in the media decried it as a publicity stunt, but those near-and-dear to the couple said it was genuine affection.
