Green Cars & Trucks Swarm State Capitol
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Dozens of green cars were lined up outside the State Capitol Saturday afternoon as automakers were showing off and introducing more fuel efficient cars and trucks.
Most people are familiar with hybrids -- part gas and part electric -- but now clean diesel may help to clear the air.
"The clean diesel is 99 percent cleaner than any diesel of the past, so if you remember being around any diesel car, diesel pick-up in years past, this is new low sulfur diesel. The engines had to be completely redesigned to accommodate the new clean diesel," said Tim Jackson, President of Colorado Auto Dealers Association.
The environmentally friendly cars were driven to the Colorado Convention Center for the car show opening Wednesday.
Monday, the convention center will host a free green car summit as national experts discuss the future of the vehicles.
