Sign Up For Christmas Assistance

The Salvation Army will be registering families in need for food and toy assistance during the Christmas holiday season beginning on Monday, November 2, 2009 at six metro Denver locations. Registration will continue through Saturday, November 7 at the dates, times and locations listed below. The number of food boxes and toys a family will receive will be determined by the size of the family.

Families will be allowed to only register once. Registrants will need to provide:
-Proof of address
-Verification of income
-2 Utility bills (Xcel, water)
-Picture ID of person registering
-Rental receipt or mortgage statement
-Birth certificates of children in household

For zip codes not listed or for those that do not register during these times can register beginning December 1 at The Salvation Army Family Service office, 2201 Stout St., Denver.
Distribution of the food boxes and toys will be December 17-23.

"We believe the need to be greater this year than last year," says Captain Ron McKinney, metro Denver Salvation Army City Coordinator. "We know that we are not going to be able to help everyone but we know that those we do help, it makes a significant impact on their families."Last year, nearly 20,000 people received food and toys from this Christmas assistance program in Denver.
