When To Call The Doctor
This decision can be a tough one, so the best rule to follow is "play it safe." You're the best judge of when you or a loved one has symptoms that just don't seem right. In those cases, call your doctor without hesitation.
Here are some general guidelines for other circumstances:
-- Fever that lasts for more than three days
-- Chest pain, shortness of breath, or rapid breathing
-- Can't hold down fluids
-- No urination for eight hours or longer
-- Dizziness when standing
-- Confusion or blankly staring off into space
-- Continuous crying or extreme irritability in children
-- You get the flu and have an underlying medical condition such as asthma or diabetes
-- You're pregnant
-- You're getting better then reverse course and start to get worse or, you're sick but don't start to see improvement after a few days
Once again, if you have any concerns, play it safe and call your doctor.
