CBS4, Denver Business Journal Team Up
CBS4 AND THE DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL TEAM UP
TO HELP THE COMMUNITY BEAT THE RECESSION
CBS4--KCNC-TV and the Denver Business Journal announced today that the two media organizations have teamed-up to report on Beating the Recession, a series of in-depth and meaningful stories for consumers and local businesses during this economic crisis.
"We are really excited to offer the community positive and empowering stories that serve as resources our viewers and Denver Business Journal readers can turn to," CBS4 News Director Tim Wieland said. "We aren't simply reporting the number of job losses each day. We are producing stories that are inspiring, spark ideas and provide helpful advice."
"We know times are tough for a lot of people. But there are still businesses out that are successful, and growing, during this economically challenging time. We're making sure we're reporting on those businesses, too, and not just the ones experiencing layoffs," said Neil Westergaard, the Denver Business Journal's editor.
Colorado has been hit hard by the economic recession. Coloradans, however, are taking a stand and finding solutions in their effort to beat this recession and CBS4 and the Denver Business Journal are telling these stories. A Beating the Recession business story featured each week in the print edition of the Denver Business Journal will be highlighted in a special report on CBS4 News at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.
In addition, a CBS4 reporter's Beating the Recession story will appear in each Friday issue of the Denver Business Journal. Regular Beating the Recession stories and video will also appear on both cbs4denver.com and denverbusinessjournal.com.
CBS4 is producing nearly 15 stories each week under the Beating the Recession brand and the station is airing a Beating the Recession story during every CBS4 newscast. All CBS4 reporters and anchors are involved in this station-wide initiative and stories range from where to find affordable hair salons to how to shop on a budget or how to beat the recession with a money makeover -- free of charge -- from a financial advisor.
