GOP McInnis Establishes Campaign Committee
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) ―
Former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis has filed papers setting up a campaign committee for his gubernatorial bid.
That clears the way for the former six-term Republican congressman from Grand Junction to start collecting campaign contributions.
McInnis officially became a candidate in May. His campaign Web site, http://www.scottmcinnisforgovernor.com, went online Thursday.
Evergreen businessman Dan Maes was the first Republican to file papers to run for governor. Colorado Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry, who worked as an aide to McInnis in Washington, is seeking the GOP nomination.
Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter will seek a second term in next year's election.
