Clinton Makes First Appearance In State Since Ending Presidential Bid

In her first public appearances in Florida since suspending her presidential campaign, Democrat Hillary Clinton campaigned in South Florida on Thursday for Barack Obama.
New York Senator Hillary Clinton spent much of the day drumming up support for former presidential nominee rival Barack Obama, reports CBS station WFOR-TV in Miami.
Clinton's first stop was in Orlando where she met with officials from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association.
She then appeared at a rally at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton convincing female voters that Obama cares about issues important to them.
After the appearance, Clinton refused to comment on the vice presidential search, whether she'd been given any indication she was in the running or if she would be angered if a woman besides her was chosen for the job.
Outside the auditorium, Amber Varney told WFOR, "We have to come together or else we're not going to get anything done."
The former first lady then spoke in the late afternoon at the Palace Theatre for the Performing Arts in Tamarac.
Since she suspended her campaign, Obama has tried to heal their differences with a joint appearance in Unity, N.H., and handing Clinton a prime-time speaking spot on Tuesday at the party's nominating convention in Denver.
Former President Bill Clinton will speak Wednesday, the same day as Obama's vice presidential running mate.
Democrats will also put Clinton's name in nomination alongside Obama's during the traditional state-by-state delegation roll call at the convention. Clinton, who is a super-delegate and gets a vote, is expected to release her delegates to Obama and ask her backers to do the same.
