Bee Swarms Captured In Denver Neighborhood

DENVER (CBS4) ― Three swarms of bees were removed from a tree in Denver's City Park neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

The honey bees buzzed into the tree near 16th Avenue and Adams Street.

A beekeeper was called to help. He boxed up the bees and took them to a good home.

"This is how bees multiply," said Phillip Bradbury of ArborScape. "They swarm. By being able to capture these bees, we're able to continue to pollinate backyard gardens as they forge a about a mile and half, two miles from their home."

For unknown reasons, large numbers of bees have been dying off worldwide.
