A CBS4 viewer paid it forward to two young women who are trying to get missing photographs back to the parents they belong to.
When CBS4's Suzanne McCarroll paid them a visit, the young women were surrounded by photographs, big and small, posters, coffee mugs with pictures, CDs and personalized Christmas ornaments.
"These are important. I would hate these parents not to have these memories of their kids," Kendra Peterson said.
Peterson is a former employee of Kiddie Kandid Photography, which was located in the Flat Irons Crossing Mall. It went out of business but managers left behind photographs that customers had already paid for. That didn't sit well with Peterson or her co-worker, Heather Flas. They grabbed the prints and have been calling customers to come pick them up at Peterson's home.
"This was very much a case of, 'People need their pictures, duh, let's go get them,'" Flas said.
A CBS4 viewer wanted to pay it forward to the girls. So CBS4 will give the two now unemployed photographers $1,000.
"We're thinking of starting up our own photography video kind of thing," Peterson said.
The two young women will use the $1,000 as seed money for their own business. They pledge to make sure all their customers get all the photos they pay for. For now though, they still have another 125 pictures to return to the parents who are missing them.
Those who would like to contact Peterson and Flas can call them at (303) 522-2718.
