Atlantis On The Move At Cape Canaveral

Cape Canaveral, Fla. (CBS) ― Moving at a snail's pace on a 3 and a half mile journey to the launch pad, Thursday morning crews began readying the Space shuttle Atlantis for a scheduled launch in mid-March.

The trip to the pad is expected to take six hours.

If all goes as planned, the March 15th launch will mark the first space shuttle mission of the year. During this mission, Atlantis's six-man crew will deliver a new segment and a pair of solar arrays that will be used to power the international space station.

NASA is hoping for four or five shuttle missions this year, its most ambitious schedule since 2002.
