Jeremy Bloom (Olympian skier, football player)Jeremy Bloom was born on April 2, 1982, in Fort Collins and grew up in Loveland. Bloom won the 2002 US Nationals freestyle skiing competition and placed ninth at the 2002 Olympics. Bloom attended the University of Colorado where he was a wide receiver and punter for the Buffaloes and he also skied. The NCAA declared he was not eligible to continue college sports because of the endorsements he made to support his skiing career. He was also named the Colorado Amateur Athlete of the Year in 2002. He played briefly for the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers in his unsuccessful NFL career and was on the U.S. ski team in 2008 and 2009. Founded in the late 00s, the Jeremy Bloom Wish of a Lifetime Foundation's mission is to grant wishes to low-income senior citizens.
