Rain along I-70 at Evergreen Parkway
CBS
Rain, rain, rain and more rain.
Since Friday the Denver metro area and the Front Range got a good soaking. Stormy skies rolled in Friday and the unsettled weather pattern lasted for five days. This kind of weather during May isn't uncommon; statistically May is considered our wettest month of the year.
Even with all the rain, it wasn't enough to put Denver above normal. Precipitation totals in Denver remain down for the month and year.
Since Friday the rain gauges at DIA received .82 inches. For the month Denver is at 1.02 inches, that's .98 inches below normal. For the year Denver has recorded 5.24 inches of precipitation that is .97 inches below normal.
CBS4 had a lot of emails about folks wanting to know how much rain fell in their area -- below are just some of the totals tallied up from the National Weather Service the past five days.
