Several Hurt When United Flight Hits Turbulence
Flight To Phoenix Returned To Denver
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Heavy turbulence on a United Airlines flight from Denver to Phoenix Tuesday forced the plane to turn back to Denver International Airport. Two of the people on board were taken to the hospital because of injuries.
One of the injured was a passenger, the other was a member of the flight crew.
Other passengers were seen in the DIA terminal putting ice on their minor injuries after the bumpy ride.
The plane was scheduled to be inspected and the flight crew was reassigned.
Some of the passengers were rebooked on other flights.
One woman thought United flight 1427 was going to crash.
"My friend hit her head, face," one female passenger told CBS4. "Suddenly the plane went down then stopped for a second or two and then started again."
