Social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook are constantly changing and it may seem daunting to keep up with it, but CBS4 has made it a priority to have a role in the most popular spaces.
"Social media will always evolve. Platforms will change. Will Twitter be here in two to three years? I can't guarantee that. These platforms will always change and evolve. Will social media every go away? I don't think so at this point," CBS4 Assignment Editor and Twitterer Misty Montano said.
It's difficult to predict what will be the next tool of the future, but CBS4 is discovering the benefits of Twitter daily.
"So I would say that there's a very good chance as new tools come out, that people may migrate to those," CBS4 News Director Tim Wieland said. "But what is clear is that the tool of the moment is Twitter. And my expectation is that it's not going away any time soon and that it will continue to grow in the short term."
And as social media changes, CBS4 will adapt.
"And when another new tool comes along, we will be there too," Wieland said. "We have learned a lot from this experience, I think we are now set up to be wherever people are, and that's the key."
