Man Found Sleeping In Arvada Trash Compactor

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) ― A man found sleeping and trapped in a trash compactor was in the hospital Thursday morning after being rescued from the machine outside a movie theater in Arvada.

Firefighters were called to the Olde Town Stadium Movie Theater at 55th Avenue and Wadsworth just after midnight.

Rescuers said he was sleeping in the track compactor under a pile of waste which was mostly popcorn. No one could see him there.

Firefighters had to dump out all the trash before getting the man out of the compactor.

The man, who authorities said was homeless, was reportedly in fair condition Thursday afternoon.
