Tornadoes Touch Down Wednesday Night In Colorado
DENVER (AP) ―
Meteorologists say severe storms that dumped 2 inches of rain and pounded parts of Colorado with hail and heavy wind also spawned several tornadoes.
The National Weather Service says seven tornadoes touched down in Lincoln County, about 90 miles east of Denver. The Lincoln County sheriff's office had reported funnel clouds near Limon Wednesday.
A sheriff's dispatcher says power poles were damaged and minor damage to homes was reported. The sheriff's department says an intersection of Colorado 71 about six miles south of Limon was under 3 feet of water.
KKTV-TV also says three tornadoes were reported in Cheyenne County, one in Baca County and one in Elbert County.
