2 Tornados Reported In Eastern Colorado

YUMA, Colo. (AP) ― The National Weather Service says two tornadoes touched down briefly in eastern Colorado.

Both tornadoes lasted about five minutes and were in a field with no houses nearby. Meteorologist Chris Foltz says no injuries or damage to structures were reported. He says the tornadoes were "landspout tornadoes," which are weak and brief.

He says the first tornado happened at about 4:20 p.m. three miles northwest of Yuma. The second tornado happened 20 minutes later just north of Eckley about 15 miles east of Yuma.

Forecasters in Goodland, Kan., said law-enforcement officers spotted the tornadoes.

Yuma is about 120 miles east of Denver.
