New Trial Date Set In Aarone Thompson Case
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) ―
The trial of a man accused in the disappearance of his young daughter, who police presume is dead, is now set for June 15.
Aaron Thompson originally was set to go on trial Nov. 3 on charges including fatal child abuse of his daughter Aarone, but on Thursday he waived his right to a speedy trial.
The Arapahoe County Department of Human Services indicated during a court hearing Wednesday that it could take two months for it to copy 4,000 to 6,000 pages of documents that need to be given to the judge in the case for review.
Thompson reported Aarone missing in 2005, when she would have been age 6. Aurora police say she may have been killed up to 18 months earlier. Her body hasn't been found.
