2 Skiers Die On Colorado Slopes
TELLURIDE, Colo. (AP) ―
An Arizona skier is dead from head injuries after he ran into trees after losing his balance at Telluride.
Brian J. Irvin, 33, from Mesa, Arizona was skiing with friends Wednesday afternoon at the Marmot ski run when the accident happened.
San Miguel County Coroner Robert Dempsey says Irvin was racing playfully with his friends when he lost his balance and hit a tree. Dempsey says Irvin bounced off that tree and into a couple others.
Irvin was a Southwest Airlines pilot. He had a 1-year-old child and his wife was expecting a second child.
Another skier is dead after being found unconscious at Winter Park.
Authorities say the 68-year-old man was face down in the snow Wednesday afternoon on the Cramner Trail.
The cause of death is unknown.
