Group Protests Tax Policies Outside State Capitol

DENVER (AP) ― A group of people protested President Barack Obama's tax policies outside the state Capitol.

The anti-tax protest was among so-called Tea Party's scheduled around the country on Independence Day. Those attending the event outside the Capitol Saturday say they are unhappy with the Obama administration's agenda on health care, energy and the environment.

Organizer Tony Gillis says "things have gotten out of control" and that the government's economic stimulus plan is a problem. There was no immediate estimate of how many people attended the rally.

The group's letters stand for "Taxed Enough Already." Other rallies were planned in Olympia, Wash., and Frankfort Ky.
