2 Injured In Summit County Helicopter Crash

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) ― Two people in a helicopter are injured after a crash west of Blue Lakes Dam near Hoosier Pass in Summit County.

The crash in the central-Colorado mountains was reported at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday by Aviation Tech Services of Englewood. The Bell 206 helicopter from the company was delivering supplies to a mine.

A second helicopter from Aviation Tech Services discovered the crash site, which was at about 13,000 feet.

The Summit County sheriff's office and the Summit Rescue Group went to the site. One person was flown to St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver. Rescue crews expected it to take six hours to carry the second person out of the mountains.
