Boulder Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Ex-Wife
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) ―
A Boulder man faces up to 32 years in prison after pleading guilty to the stabbing death of his ex-wife.
Alfred Michael Strauss was accused of stabbing 36-year-old Laura Swan three times at the couple's home last August. Strauss, 46, pleaded guilty to Swan's death in exchange for a second-degree murder charge Friday.
Strauss told police he had acted in self-defense but investigators noted he had stabbed Swan twice from behind.
Swan's friend say they wanted Strauss to face a harsher punishment but that they're happy the case won't go to trial.
