Smart Grid Experience Teaches About Energy Future

DENVER (CBS4) ― Gov. Bill Ritter helped Xcel Energy promote the "Smart Grid City" experience at the state Capitol Thursday. The interactive mobile exhibit will also be on display in downtown Denver during the Democratic National Convention.

The new technologies featured are part of a plan to make Boulder the first Smart Grid City in America.

Ritter said it has the potential to change electric usage as we now know it.

"This smart grid is a way for us to think about how we produce energy," he said.

The experience can also been seen at the Green Frontier Fest at the Denver Performing Arts Center over the weekend and during the DNC.
