Sinkhole Closes 2 Lanes Of I-70 Near Silverthorne

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (CBS4) ― A sinkhole forced the closure of two lanes on westbound Interstate 70 near Silverthorne Thursday afternoon, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

CDOT said the sinkhole was six feet wide by four feet deep and is above a culvert.

Crews were working to assess the damage and determine a plan of action for repairs.

Initially only one lane was closed.
