Progress Made In Aurora Shooting Investigation

AURORA, Colo. (AP) ― Police said they are making progress the investigation of a shooting at an Aurora bar that left two women injured early Sunday morning.

Two women were wounded outside a bar when they were caught in the middle of a shootout.

Aurora police Detective Shannon Lucy said one woman's condition is stable but serious and the other was released from the hospital Monday. Lucy said the women were not involved in the dispute that sparked the shooting. It was initially reported the women were waiting in a car for their friends when the two gunmen started shooting. Police said after analysis of evidence at the scene, they believe there was only one gunman.

Police said they were able to locate a white-over-tan late model Ford F-250 extended cab or four-door pickup with tinted windows and stock wheels that witnesses said was involved in the shooting. After interviewing the owner of the truck, police now don't believe that truck was involved, but rather the target.

Police are now looking for a late 90s brown four-door SUV, possibly a General Motors vehicle. Four Hispanic males were in the SUV at the time of the shooting. Police believe the driver fired shots from inside the vehicle at the driver of the white truck. They said the shooting may have stemmed from a minor traffic altercation in the parking lot of the La Sierra Bar and Grill.

Anyone with information about the suspects should contact Aurora Police at 303-739-6710.
