CU Student Tweets About In China Flu Quarantine

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) ― A University of Colorado student says he and his mother have been quarantined in China because of concerns about the spread of swine flu.

Thomas Spradling says they both passed temperature checks when they flew into Beijing. But two days later, on Monday, men in white hazardous-materials suits showed up at their luxury hotel and took them a run-down quarantine hotel.

The 25-year-old art graduate student says they apparently sat near someone suspected of having swine flu on their flight.

They've been having their temperature taken twice daily and he says the food is "mostly gristle."

He expects to be released Saturday and continue his plan to study art in Beijing and then Tokyo. Until then, he's keeping busy posting messages on Twitter.
