Pine Woman Sentenced For Mail Thefts, Burglaries
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) ―
A Pine woman has been sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to stealing mail and burglarizing homes in Conifer and unincorporated Jefferson County.
Sophie Rose Shafer, 19, had previously pleaded guilty to felony burglary. She was sentenced Monday.
Authorities say Shafer and her boyfriend, , , 27, of Denver, stole the contents from mailboxes last year, took out cash and gift cards, and tossed the mail on the side of the road.
Investigators tracked the pair to a Wheat Ridge motel, where they were arrested. Officers discovered stolen mail in one unit, and later found stolen property inside Pantera's storage locker.
Pantera has pleaded not guilty to numerous charges.
His trial is scheduled for January.
