Man Arrested For Pimping Of A Child In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) ― Police in Aurora are seeking the public's help locating victims of a suspect recently arrested in connection with a child prostitution case.

"A teenage girl was turning over the money she earned for performing sex acts to her handler. Investigators were able to rescue the underage girl from this tragic situation, however, they believe there could be other women – possibly underage girls – who were working for the same man and want to speak with them," Detective Robert Friel said in a prepared statement.

Friel said on June 25, undercover vice and narcotics investigators investigated prostitution services advertised on several popular online Web sites. They found a teen who was the subject of online escort service ads on backpage.com. Police met her at a hotel and learned she was reported as runaway from Texas.

"It certainly a trap that is set by these men who use these young girls for prostitution activities," Friel told CBS4. "They lure them in, possibly buying them things, giving them a place to stay, those kind of thing, and before they know it, they're going down a dangerous path in selling their bodies."

The teen was taken into protective custody.

Police arrested Bobby James Doss, 24, for pimping of a child. He is being held without bond at the Arapahoe County Jail.

While police were questioning the girl at the hotel Brett Alan Coffman, 37, attempted to meet the girl for sex and was arrested. He was held for bond.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Vice and Narcotics Sergeant Stephen Redfearn at (303) 739-1750 or by email at sredfear@auroragov.org.
