Put your quarters and credit card away, paying for parking in Cherry Creek North is just a text message away.
On Friday, Nov. 6, the shopping district began testing a new system that allows shoppers to text in credit card information to pay for parking.
That means you don't have to run to a kiosk, put in money or a credit card, and then back to your car.
"You no longer have to get that print receipt and put it in your car. When the vehicle control agents are walking their beats and they look in the windshield and they don't see that, they have it on their handheld system that shows your license plate and they know whether or not you've paid," said Christine Downs, Denver Public Works.
The test program is slated to run for six months. The City of Denver is asking for feedback on how the program works.
"Everytime you come back to Cherry Creek, you just dial that number and it will motivate your parking and then you have an electronic record, so you're chances of getting incorrect tickets is reduced," said Jeanne Robb, Councilwoman District 10.
In addition to paying for parking, drivers will be charged a 35-cent fee for using your phone to pay.
