Jury Deliberates In Sir Mario Owens Trial

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) ― An Arapahoe County jury has begun deliberating in the murder trial of Sir Mario Owens, accused of killing a man who was scheduled to testify against him.

Deliberations began Monday. Owens could face the death penalty if convicted.

He is charged with first-degree murder in the 2005 shooting deaths of Javad Marshall-Fields and Marshall-Fields' fiancee, Vivan Wolfe.

Marshall-Fields was to testify against Owens and another man in a separate shooting death. Owens was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison in that case.
