Colorado's political leadership visited the set of "Nowhereland" Tuesday. The comedy features Eddie Murphy and is being filmed around the Denver area this month.
Tuesday's shoot was at the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver.
Gov. Bill Ritter, Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien, Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper met producers and directors of the movie.
Paramount Pictures expects to spend about $3.25 million in the metro area during the 12-day shoot, which wraps up at the end of this week. Paramount has hired about 1,200 local residents as extras and booked 2,000 hotel-room nights.
"This was a tremendous economic shot in the arm for Denver and for Colorado," Ritter said in a prepared statement. "I look forward to working with Mayor Hickenlooper, the legislature and the Colorado Film Commission to showcase all that we have to offer the film industry in the future."
