Motorcycle Rally Holds 'Military Day' For Soldiers
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) ―
There was a celebration Saturday to honor Colorado's military and it was a very special day for Iraq War veterans at the annual Thunder of the Rockies motorcycle rally in Loveland.
The event honored those who served in the past, current military members and future soldiers as an induction ceremony was held.
"It's important, it lets these guys feel a sense of the honor and patriotism," Master Sgt. Gene Drozd with U.S. Marine Corps said.
"It's not so much for the people who are here, but for the people who have gone before me and protected my freedoms, so I believe that I owe them a debt and I have to go pay that debt," said Gary Rupp, who just joined the Marines.
There were donations and satellite feed time. It was all organized by various veteran organizations in and around the Loveland area.
It was the fourth year of Thunder of the Rockies.
