Medical marijuana supporters want a judge to block a change in state regulations limiting who can supply the drug to patients.
The state health board this week temporarily narrowed the definition after a recent state court decision said caregivers must have personal contact with clients and do more for their welfare than simply supply the drug.
Lawyers representing a medical marijuana user and a caregiver say the health board didn't give enough notice of the meeting. One of them, Robert Corry, said he learned about it in an e-mail from the board Monday, a day before the vote.
Health department spokesman Mark Salley says state law exempts emergency meetings from regular notice requirements. He says the board's meeting on a final decision next month will be publicized.
