3 Men Arrested On Marijuana Cultivation Charges

PARACHUTE, Colo. (AP) ― Three men have been arrested following a traffic stop near a western Colorado canyon where nearly 900 marijuana plants were discovered growing in September.

The Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team says a Garfield County deputy saw a man run out of the woods and jump into a mini van Tuesday near the town of Parachute.

The drug task force says the deputy stopped the van, searched it and found a trash bag containing nearly 10 pounds of newly harvested marijuana.

Authorities say the traffic stop occurred in a canyon where officers, following a tip, recovered 890 marijuana plants on Sept. 24.

The men arrested Tuesday were 24-year-old Humberto Bautista Flores, 26-year-old German Ortiz-Delgado, and 31-year-old Luis Luna Flores. All three face felony cultivation and possession of marijuana charges.
